onyx was some of the only music my moms wouldn’t let me listen to as a kid. when i was little all the rap albums my mom bought me were clean versions, so she generally was able to tolerate them. there were certain exceptions of course, onyx being one of them. i feel as though this probably has to do with the fact that after all was said and bleeped out, most onyx albums were nothing but a bunch of pauses and bits and pieces of aggy rapper talk. can’t really blame her.
