i got stuck on a chairlift today during a thunder and lightning storm for a very long time today, so i’m pretty over it, so let’s just ponder this claim of brock’s:
“lil’ wayne fell off”

slug is my favorite rapper. and ant is one of my favorite producers. they make up one of my favorite rap groups, atmosphere. they are putting out a new album on april 22, when life gives you lemons, you paint that shit gold. as a piece of promotional genius, they are coming out with weekly webisodes on youtube called ‘paint it gold’ where they answer fan questions, act a fool and make you laugh.
ep. 1
ep.2
ep.3
ep.4

the single off the new album is called ‘shoulda known’. i think it’s about that favie shit, cocaine. here is the video!
here are some cities that they will be coming to:
(no love for ottawa or mtl)
toronto 4.24 opera house
seattle 5.13 showbox
vancouver 5.14 commodore
salt lake 5.16 in the venue

you guessed accurately.

it is in fact, weezy wednesday.
new weezy.
the beat is annoying as shit, but it’s way better than that lollipop garbage.
full version here.

wayne was in the UK recently, and they showed him NO love. some retard threw a bottle at weezy during a show and that was game over. here’s a clip of weezy talking to tim westwood, a freestyle from that show, as well as the clip of the concert/bottle throwing incident.
{k, so the embedding isn’t working for the first vid so… here is the clip – it’ll open in a new window!}

concert:
i guess that some people didn’t quite get the (no homo) humour in the first strapped add, so they done changed that shit up:

if you ask me, letting the white man get his hands in your pockets isn’t much better than letting him fuck you in the ass.
you don’t wanna catch nothin’ that you can’t throw back. stay strapped.

last summer, dave and i went to rock the bells, san francisco edition. it was my first (and probably only) time seeing the entire wu-tang clan together, and i needed a tshirt for the occasion, goddamnit. i ended up getting a black ’1993′ printed on a yellow-gold shirt…killa bees on attack. save for a few rap-savvy cats, most people don’t get it. which is just fine by me but that doesn’t change the fact that i have to wield that WHY 1993?? question more often than not.
sometimes i just claim that it’s my favorite year and that’s that and sometimes, sometimes i elaborate.
the year 1993 was THE BEST.
end of story.
and not only because the wu-tang clan released their magnum opus, 36 chambers. and not only because michael jackson released dangerous. and not only because he has a mindblowing performance at the ’93 superbowl. and not only because the glorious nation of the czech republic was formed…THAT ALONE IS REASON ENOUGH!!!!!!
ladies and gents, i have compiled a thoro list of why exactly….

- my girl lisa bonet finally dropped that loser lenny kravitz
- 36 chambers (not to mention like a million other brilliant rap albums)
- young janet & ‘pac in poetic justice

- whitney houston’s i will always love you
- aerosmith’s get a grip
- prince changed his name to #$^*&%
- ’93 til infinity (souls of mischief)
- midnight marauders
- SISTAS WITH VOICES

- last studio album nirvana released (in utero)
- ACE OF BASE
- bad boy records
- doggystyle!
- the roots’ organix
- nelson mandela won nobel peace prizzy
- bill clinton was getting dome in the oval office on the regular

- FREE WILLY happened
- so did jurassic park, homeward bound, mrs. doubtfire, what’s eating gilbert grape & true romance
- AND PROBABLY A LOT OF OF OTHER COOL SHIT (can ya think of any??)

my feet are swollen and i’m over it!!! see you tomorrow AKA WEEZY WEDNESDAY (fiyaaa)
from ’93 til infinity,

LOve.
PS – OJ MAYO, YA HUURRD?!!!!
